Sweden

Sweden is a small lovely Scandinavian country. From the frozen lands up north to the rugged western coast to the picturesque islands in Stockholm, Sweden is one of my favourite countries in the world. There’s a lot of history in the country and the populace has preserved it wonderfully. Throw in welcoming locals and you have the recipe for a truly amazing destination!

1. Stockholm

Stockholm is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. A vibrant, colourful city of contrasts, forward-thinking and ultra-modern, breaking boundaries and setting standards, set among centuries-old buildings and a rich history.

Sitting on the water in the Swedish capital of Stockholm is Stockholm Palace, commonly referred to just as The Royal Palace; it is the official residence and location of the offices of the His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia and where they conduct royal business.

Oskar-Fredriksborg was completed in 1877. Until 1925, one expanded the defense systems continuously. The fortifications were part of the Vaxholm line.

2. Drottningholm-Palace

Drottningholm, literally “Queen’s Islet”, is a locality situated in Ekerö Municipality, Stockholm County, Sweden. It is situated on the island Lovön in lake Mälaren on the outskirts of Stockholm. Drottningholm Palace, the residence of the Swedish Royal Family since 1981, is located here. The village was planned and built in the mid 18th century for the people working at the palace. It is a good example of how a Swedish village would have looked like in the 18th and 19th centuries, containing many picturesque houses and villas.

3. Gothenburg (Göteborg)

Neoclassical architecture makes it pretty. Efficient public transportation makes it easy to get around. Surrounded by islands and forests, nature is only minutes away. The culture here breeds tasty food, cool art, excellent design, and — attractive people. Yeah I said it. Swedes are easy on the eyes!
